Welcome to Pathway to Hope. By accessing and using pathwaytohope.ca you agree to comply with the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully.

Acceptance of Terms

By visiting, enrolling in courses, donating, or engaging with content on our platforms, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old or have obtained consent from a parent/guardian. If you disagree with any of the terms, please refrain from using our services.

Definitions

• Pathway to Hope – KWC Pathway to Hope, a nonprofit organization registered in Ontario, Canada.
• User – Any individual who accesses or interacts with the websites.
• Services – Online educational courses, mentorship programs, workshops, and related resources offered through Pathway to Hope.
• Donor – Any individual or organization that makes a financial or in-kind contribution to Pathway to Hope.
• Sponsor/Partner – An individual, company, or organization providing financial or operational support in collaboration with Pathway to Hope.

User Conduct

Users agree to:

• Use the websites for lawful purposes only.
• Respect the privacy and rights of others.
• Refrain from posting or transmitting harmful, defamatory, or offensive content.

Prohibited activities include:

• Hacking, data mining, or attempting to breach website security.
• Misuse of resources, impersonation, or misrepresenting affiliation with Pathway to Hope.
• Copying or redistributing content outside the permissions granted below.

Course content is licensed, not all rights reserved. Pathway to Hope course content is published under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0. You may share and adapt it for non-commercial purposes, with credit, and share your version under the same licence. That permission is granted in advance and you do not need to ask for it. The restriction above applies to everything that is not course content, including our name, logo, photographs, and site design.

Registration and Accounts

This website has no user accounts. There is nothing to register for and nothing to log in to, so no account terms apply to your use of pathwaytohope.ca.

If we introduce accounts later, for the Academy or anything else, these terms will be updated before that happens and the relevant conditions will be set out here.

Course Enrolment and Participation

• Eligibility – Courses are designed for youth aged 13-25 but are open to families, educators, and community members.
• Completion and Certification – Upon successful completion of courses, participants may receive certificates of participation or completion. These certificates are for personal development and not professional accreditation.
• Course Fees – Most courses are free; however, certain workshops or advanced modules may require payment. All fees, if applicable, are clearly communicated prior to registration.

Refund and Cancellation Policy

• Refund Eligibility – Refunds are applicable only to paid workshops or premium courses. Refund requests must be submitted within 7 days of purchase if the user has not accessed more than 20% of the course material.
• Processing Time – Approved refunds will be processed within 14 business days from the date of request.
• Event Cancellations – If Pathway to Hope cancels a workshop or event, users will receive a full refund or credit toward a future event.
• No-Shows – Users who fail to attend paid events without prior cancellation will not receive a refund.

Donations and payment processing

Payments made through this site are voluntary donations to Pathway to Hope. The person making a donation does not receive goods, services, counselling, rewards, or other consideration in return.

Card payments are completed on a Stripe-hosted Checkout page. Card details are provided directly to Stripe. Pathway to Hope does not receive or store full card numbers or card security codes.

Official donation receipts

Pathway to Hope is a Canadian not-for-profit corporation and is not registered as a charity with the Canada Revenue Agency. Pathway to Hope cannot issue official charitable donation receipts. No payment made through this site will receive an official charitable donation receipt, regardless of amount.

Fixed monthly installments

When a fixed monthly installment option is selected, the amount shown is the total donation commitment. The total is divided into exactly 3, 6, 12, or 24 successful monthly payments, as selected and shown on the Stripe Checkout page. If a payment fails, Stripe may retry it. A failed payment can extend the schedule beyond the selected number of calendar months until the selected number of successful payments has been collected. The schedule then ends automatically.

Cancellation of remaining installments

To request cancellation of the remaining installments, contact Pathway to Hope at admin@pathwaytohope.ca or 1-888-861-8830 as soon as possible before the next scheduled payment. This payment flow does not provide a user account or self-service cancellation portal. A cancellation is effective when Pathway to Hope confirms that the Stripe subscription and its schedule have been cancelled. Payments already processed are not automatically refunded and are handled under the refund section below.

Refunds

Donations are generally final. If a donation was made in error or without the cardholder’s authorization, contact Pathway to Hope at admin@pathwaytohope.ca within 30 days of the charge. Refund requests are reviewed case by case. An approved refund is submitted through Stripe to the original payment method. Stripe and the cardholder’s financial institution control how long the refund takes to appear.

Sponsorship and Partnership Agreements

• Sponsorship Opportunities – Pathway to Hope offers sponsorship packages for events, workshops, and programs. Sponsors receive recognition through our marketing materials, social media, and during events.
• Partnerships – We collaborate with businesses, educational institutions, and community organizations to expand our outreach and enhance program delivery.
• Terms of Agreement – Sponsorship and partnership agreements are subject to formal contracts outlining:
  • Contribution amount or resources.
  • Recognition methods (e.g., logo placement, mentions).
  • Duration and scope of the partnership.

Text Messaging

• Consent and Purpose – By providing your phone number to Pathway to Hope, you consent to receive text messages for:
  • 2-Factor Authentication (2FA)
  • Meeting Notifications (only if you independently subscribe)
  • Event Confirmation (for signups and scheduling details)
• No Unwanted Solicitation – We do not use your phone number to send unsolicited marketing or promotional texts.
• No Sale of Phone Numbers – We do not sell or share your phone number with third parties.
• Opt-Out – You can opt out of receiving text messages at any time by replying with “STOP” or following the instructions in the message or contacting our support team.
• Right to Decline – Pathway to Hope reserves the right to decline partnerships or sponsorships that conflict with our mission, values, or ethics.
• Termination – Sponsorship agreements may be terminated by mutual agreement or if either party breaches the terms. Termination must be provided in writing with 30 days’ notice.

Intellectual Property

All content, including logos, text, videos, and course materials, is the intellectual property of Pathway to Hope or its partners and protected by copyright laws. Users may not reproduce, distribute, or modify materials without explicit written permission.

Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us. By using our services, you consent to Pathway to Hope’s collection and use of personal data as outlined in our Privacy Policy. Key highlights include:

• Data Collection – We collect personal information during account registration, course enrolment, and surveys.
• Use of Data – Your data is used to provide services, analyze course performance, and improve user experiences.
• Third-Party Sharing – Pathway to Hope does not sell or share personal data with third parties, except when required by law or for service delivery (e.g., payment processing).

Limitation of Liability

Pathway to Hope is not responsible for:

• Any direct, indirect, or incidental damages resulting from website use.
• Technical issues, interruptions, or data loss.
• User reliance on educational materials as medical advice.

Dispute Resolution

In the event of a dispute, users agree to attempt to resolve matters informally with Pathway to Hope. If no resolution is reached, disputes will be handled through mediation or arbitration in Ontario, Canada, in accordance with provincial laws.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada. Any disputes arising from the use of Pathway to Hope’s services will be subject to the jurisdiction of Ontario courts.
